Pissed Christ

In class on Friday, Mr. Sweeney shown us a picture of Jesus on the cross and expand to us that he was going to give us more details about the picture and that we had to write how we felt about it. At first I thought the artist was making it seem like the picture was taken in that time period and that it had a nice glow on Jesus. Or the picture was taken from a scene of the movie "The Passion of Christ." Then he told us the title of the picture was called "Pissed Christ." I felt that it was wrong on some many levels. No matter what, i feel that it is wrong to piss on anything besides in the toilet. It was ruse and disrespectful and If I had to the chance to I would slap the artist. Then I was mad because he gotten grant money to do this. That money could of went towards something else. Why would tax payers pay artist to make art. Like, look at the world and all the problems we have. Tax payer's money should be put to use for those things not art.

TyRuben Ellingson

As one of me beyond class event I went to go him at the library community room and I learned a lot about TyRuben Ellingson. The son of a Minnesota art professor, TyRuben spent his childhood in his father’s studio, engaged in drawing, painting and constructing cardboard “machines”. While completing his Master’s degree at St. Cloud State University, Ellingson taught drawing and design courses at the university and exhibited his paintings in regional and national shows, receiving recognition and awards. His Master of Fine Arts degree was completed in 1987 at Southern Methodist University. Combining his fine art successes with a life long interest in film, Ellingson landed a position at George Lucas’ Industrial, Light and Magic in 1989 as a Visual Effects Art Director. While at ILM, Ellingson contributed to the creation of ground-breaking special effects in films such as Jurassic Park, Star Wars: A New Hope, and Disclosure. In 1995, Ellingson accepted an invitation by Director Guillermo Del Toro to act as principal designer of the signature creature for Mimic. He also designed for Del Toro on Blade 2 and the Hellboy films. In 2006, Ellingson joined the team at Lightstorm to work as lead vehicle designer for Director James Cameron’s science-fiction epic, Avatar.
Other films to which he has lent his creative talents include Blade Trinity, Signs, Eagle Eye, Surrogates, Priest (2011) and Battle: Los Angeles (2011) TyRuben Ellingson was a Visiting Artist in the Dept. of Communication Arts in 2013.

Group 3 for Grammar Schmammar

Today, they did a good job with there presentation. They all work together as a team and I really like that. They were very prepared and they practice it. They had good information and good example. During the examples, if you guess it right I got candy. That was a plus because that gave us a good reason to pay attention. They really gave me a good outlook of how I can improve for our next grammar schmammar. We are going to pass out candy (if we have the money for it) and combine all our information together instead if everyone having different stuff.

My group's grammar schmammar

When we presented of grammar schmammar we suck as an unit! But it was really fun. I am glad that we are doing these grammar schmammars. For one it gives me a chance to get to know the person in my group (Jacob and Rita); even though it is only three of us. We all are goofy in a way but Jacob is really funny. So as we were presenting he kept making us laugh. And just making us feel comfortable. We did a pretty good job and we had some good information. But we still suck as an unit. But next grammar schammar we are going to improve.
